Lab software integrations: analyzers, ABDM, WhatsApp, Tally and more
Integrations decide how much retyping your lab still does. PathLab Software connects to the analyzers on your bench, to India's ABDM health-information network, to your own WhatsApp Business number, to Tally and GST accounting, to UPI for payments and to hospital systems through a REST API. Each one below says plainly what is live, what runs in sandbox and what needs your credentials.
Analyzer catalogue: 36 models by brand, protocol and direction
Results flow from the analyzer into PathLab Software for every protocol listed. For bidirectional-capable analyzers, the PathLab Software connector answers the analyzer's host query (ASTM Q record or HL7 query) with the tests ordered on that barcode, so nobody types the worklist on the machine. "Direction" is the analyzer's typical LIS capability from vendor documentation; confirm with your model's LIS manual. "Status" is our honest testing status: no analyzer has been field-validated with a customer yet, and every one is validated on site with known samples at go-live.

ABDM and ABHA: more than capturing the number
PathLab Software acts as the lab's Health Information Provider (HIP) software in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. At registration the desk captures the patient's 14-digit ABHA number (checked and printed masked) and ABHA address. When the pathologist signs a report, it is linked to the patient as a care context. When a hospital, doctor or the patient's own PHR app asks for records with the patient's consent, PathLab Software records the consent artefact (requester, purpose, date range, expiry) and prepares a FHIR R4 DiagnosticReport bundle with LOINC codes for common tests.
Status, honestly: exchange with the ABDM gateway goes live once your lab completes its own HFR facility registration and HIP onboarding and the gateway credentials are added. Until then the ABDM console runs in a clearly labelled sandbox: links, consents and bundles are created exactly as they would be, but nothing leaves our servers. We do not claim ABDM certification on your behalf.
ABDM in PathLab Software
- ABHA number (14 digits) and ABHA address at registration
- Masked ABHA on every report
- Automatic care-context link at sign-off
- Consent artefacts with purpose, range and expiry
- FHIR R4 DiagnosticReport bundles with LOINC codes, fingerprinted
- Sandbox until your HFR / HIP registration is approved
Messaging, payments, accounts and hospital systems
Your own WhatsApp number
Signed reports, reminders and dues go out from your lab's verified WhatsApp Business number and display name. Patients who message that number get a menu to book a home collection or visit, get the portal link or request a call back. Live once Meta verification is complete; we do it with you at setup.
UPI pay links
Add your UPI ID and every dues reminder and the patient portal carry a pay link that opens any UPI app; the desk confirms receipt. A payment gateway with automatic reconciliation goes live once you connect a gateway account.
Tally and GST
Download a month as Tally XML (one Sales voucher per invoice, one Receipt per payment) or a GST sales register CSV, with ledger names set to match your Tally company.
HMS, EMR and centre apps
A REST API with per-lab API keys creates patients and orders, reads samples by barcode, writes results and lists signed reports, for hospital systems and collection-centre apps. See hospital labs.
PKI report signing
Install a document-signer certificate (.pfx) and each report fingerprint is signed with RSA-SHA256; the QR page re-verifies it. Class 3 DSC on a USB token needs a local signer utility and is set up on request.
Voice calls for critical values
Critical results trigger an automatic call and WhatsApp alert with retries, escalation and an acknowledgement log, through AvanceZone's voice gateway. See for doctors.
Frequently asked questions
Does PathLab Software support bidirectional analyzer interfacing?
Yes. Results flow from the analyzer to PathLab Software over HL7, ASTM or serial, and for bidirectional-capable analyzers the connector asks the LIS for the tests ordered on a barcode (host query) and downloads them to the analyzer. Each analyzer is validated on site with known samples at go-live; no analyzer has been field-validated with a customer yet.
Is PathLab Software integrated with ABDM?
PathLab Software captures the ABHA number and ABHA address, links each signed report as a care context, records consent requests and prepares FHIR R4 DiagnosticReport bundles. Exchange with the ABDM gateway goes live once your lab completes its own HFR facility registration and HIP onboarding; until then the module runs in a clearly labelled sandbox.
Can I send reports from my lab's own WhatsApp number?
Yes. Reports, reminders and the patient booking menu go out from your lab's verified WhatsApp Business number and display name once Meta verification is complete, which we do with you during setup. WhatsApp delivery is included in every plan.
Does PathLab Software export to Tally?
Yes. Each month you can download a Tally XML file with one Sales voucher per invoice and one Receipt per payment, plus a GST sales register CSV. Ledger names are set to match your Tally company.
Can patients pay online?
Dues reminders and the patient portal carry a UPI pay link to your lab's UPI ID, which opens any UPI app; the desk confirms receipt. Automatic reconciliation through a payment gateway goes live once you connect a gateway account with us.
My analyzer is not in the catalogue. Can you connect it?
Often, yes. If it outputs HL7, ASTM or a text/CSV file it can usually be interfaced, but we confirm only after seeing its LIS manual or a sample output. Send the make, model and a sample output through the contact page; we reply within one working day and add it to the catalogue as on request until validated on site.
