How does hub-and-spoke processing work?
Branches and collection centres register patients and barcode samples; the hub lab runs them. Transfer manifests move the box from branch to hub and record each tube on arrival. Results, validation and the signed report follow the same barcode, and the report prints with the header of the branch where the patient registered, set per branch in report settings.
What does the owner see across branches?
The analytics page shows visits per day, billed and collected amounts per branch, reagent cost drawn from inventory per branch, and contribution after reagents. Turnaround time is shown as median and 90th percentile per department and per test against its target, so a slow branch or a slow test stands out. B2B and franchise accounts show business and outstanding balances.
How is test profitability calculated?
Each test can be mapped to the reagents and consumables it uses (for example one CBC uses 1/1100 of a diluent pack and one EDTA tube). At sign-off, PathLab Software draws that consumption first-expiry-first from the lots in stock and costs it from the lot price, so revenue minus reagent cost per test is real, not estimated. Unmapped tests are labelled so you know what is missing.
Do branches share inventory and QC?
Each item and analyzer can belong to a branch. Reagent stock falls as tests are signed, a draft purchase order is raised when an item reaches its reorder level, and expiry alerts arrive 30 days ahead. Internal QC runs per analyzer, so a failed QC at one branch blocks sign-off only for that analyzer.
What support do chains get?
The Chain plan includes a dedicated onboarding manager, branch-by-branch go-live (typically one to two weeks for a multi-branch lab), priority support and a quarterly review of your NABL evidence such as audit trail, QC logs and critical-value logs.

Which PathLab Software plan do I need for this?

How long does setup take?
Our target for a single lab is about two working days; multi-branch and B2B networks usually take one to two weeks, branch by branch. We load your test master and rate lists, create the B2B accounts and branches, connect analyzers and train staff in Tamil or English.
Is patient data shared with other centres?
No. Each centre or hospital login sees only the samples and reports it referred. Data is hosted in India, encrypted in transit and at rest, and every sign-in and report view is logged, with WhatsApp consent recorded per patient as the DPDP Act 2023 expects.
Can I export accounts to Tally?
Yes. Accounts can be exported every month as a Tally XML voucher file (sales invoices and receipts) and as a GST sales register CSV; ledger names are configurable. Import into a copy of your company in Tally first.
